2 天前 · GERD Background. Located on the Blue Nile,the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is near the northwest border of Ethiopia and Sudan. This dam when completed, will affect the countries downstream on the Nile River (Sudan and Egypt) and to the South on the White Nile (Uganda, South Sudan etc.). The GERD is currently around 60% completed.
